Project awards

Judging criteria
These awards recognise excellence in projects which have been implemented in any type of organisational environment anywhere in the world. In each category the judges will be looking for examples of clearly defined benefits to the organisation, as well as examples of an innovative approach to problem-solving.

Vendor awards

5. Best User Experience 

Judging criteria
The judges will be looking for a product, service or project which has taken an innovative approach to improving the user experience. Entries may be made on behalf of commercially available products (e.g. fee-based information services), free-to-user products (e.g. web sites or web-based communities), internal projects (e.g. an intranet or extranet) or products and services which enhance usability (e.g. search and retrieval tools).

6. FreePint Award for Best Customer Service Team
Please note: nominations for this award can be made via FreePint.com

Judging criteria
This award is presented to the vendor customer service team who have demonstrated excellence in the support they provide.

7. IWR Readers Award for Technology of the Year
Readers are able to make a nomination via the IWR readers survey 

Product awards

8. Best Business Information Product
9. Best STM Information Product
10. Best Specialist Search Product
11. Best Product for Libraries 

Judging criteria
The judges will be looking for products which have taken an innovative approach to meeting customers needs.

Best Information / Knowledge Team awards

12. Best team in an Academic Environment 
13. Best team in a Business Environment
14. Best team in a Public Sector Environment 
15. Best team in a Scientific Environment

Judging criteria
These awards can be won by any team (including virtual teams) working in any information/knowledge context anywhere in the world. The judges will look for examples of strong team spirit, an innovative approach to collaboration and team-working; and illustrations of the specific contribution made by the teams to their respective organisations.

Individual awards

16. CILIP / Online Information Personal Development Award
This award is open to newly chartered members of CILIP. All eligible members will be contacted by CILIP direct.
17. IWR Information Professional of the Year
The judges are looking for an individual from any type of organisational environment who has made an outstanding contribution as an information professional nominations should be sent directly to: mark_chillingworth@vnu.co.uk - with a brief supporting statement as to why the individual is being nominated.
18. Lifetime Achievement
This award is nominated and chosen by the awards judges to recognise an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the international information industry.
