Opening Keynote

David Weinberger

Dr David Weinberger, co-author of the international bestseller The Cluetrain Manifesto, is one of the most respected thoughtleaders at the intersection of technology, business and society. He is a Fellow at the Berkmen Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School. David's presentation will differ from anything you have heard before with a unique perspective on how technology is driving broad and deep changes to the basics of business and information, in his opening address ‘The new shape of knowledge – everything is miscellaneous’.

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS

Track 1 begins with a look at desktop search with insights from Google, MSN, Yahoo! and Blinkx. Gain a better understanding of how search engines work – and don’t forget to quiz the search experts in the ‘Question Time’ forum.

Track 2 delves into library and publishing developments. Hear about the challenges of digitisation in light of the Google Scholar project as well as innovative library strategies to help keep your library a must-have information centre. New research into open access will be shared along with insights into new business models for publishers.

Track 3 – Day one of Managing Enterprise Content (MEC) looks at enterprise content management with case studies on implementing CMS, a panel debate on the future of enterprise content management and a look at how records management is being integrated with other business processes.
