On Tuesday 2 December the UKeiG Jason Farradane Award sponsored by Sage Publications will be presented in track one of the conference at 14.00 by the UKeiG. This Award recognises an individual or group of people in recognition of their outstanding work in the field of information science.

This Award recognises an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the information profession, or to the practice of information management, over the past twelve months. This prestigious award recognises an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the information profession, or to the practice of information management, over the past twelve months.
The IWR Information Professional of the Year Award is recognised as one of the key achievements in the information world and gets talked about both pre- and post- the presentation ceremony
Nominations for the award might reflect achievements such as outstanding project work, examples of collaborative working within or between organisations, innovative examples of best practice, the development of new services or solutions, or activities to develop the information profession itself, among others. Nominations can be made by, or on behalf of, any information professional from anywhere in the world.
Distinguished past winners include:

- 2004 Karen George, Senior Librarian, The Home Office

Nominations will be considered and the winner selected by a panel of previous winners.
The IWR Information Professional of the Year trophy will be presented to the winner before an audience of his or her peers, at the Online Information Conference.
The winner will receive a trophy and a free delegate place to the conference.
