Bonnie Cheuk

Head of Knowledge & Information
Environmental Resources Management (ERM), UK

Dr. Bonnie Cheuk has over 10 years of experience facilitating knowledge sharing and managing information in both private and public organisations. She is currently the Head of Knowledge and Information for ERM, the world's leading provider of environmental consulting services. Previously, she has advised the Scottish Government on strategy to improve knowledge sharing across the 32 Scottish local authorities and their partners (Dec 2005 to June 2006). She was with the British Council (2002 to 2005) where she led a 14-people team and successfully created and implemented a global knowledge management strategy that is in line with the business objectives of this global organisation with offices in 110 countries; and with Arthur Andersen business consulting (1999 to 2002) where she helped clients to establish and implement knowledge strategy in Asia Pacific region and in the United States. Two of her KM projects have been short listed as finalists for the Information Management Award (IM2004 and IM2005). Her work has been published in international journals and she speaks frequently in conferences.

 

Bonnie began her career as a professional librarian in Hong Kong and then moved on to teach and conduct research in the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. She received her Ph.D. degree in library and information science in 1999 and since then has been applying Dervin's Sense-Making Methodology and Snowden's complexity theory to design and implement knowledge management projects and systems to deliver business benefits.
