Successfully launched at Online Information 2009!

Located in the Gallery Suites on the gallery level at the show, this new theatre played host to 3 panel discussions that focused on topical issues facing librarians, with speakers from a number of different countries to provide a variety of viewpoints.

With input from expert information practitioners from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, UK and the USA, the discussions examined current and future issues facing librarians.

The sessions attracted visitors from over 17 countries and focused on:

  • European librarians in the future: a country comparison (Tuesday 1 December)
  • New roles for information professionals (Wednesday 2 December)
  • Services in libraries under the spotlight: country comparisons (Thursday 3 December)

The sessions were held in English and we would like to thank EBSCO as the European Librarians Theatre Partner and SLA Europe as our Learning Partner. The programme was put together in conjunction with SLA Europe Coordinator Marie Madeleine Salmon, Head of Information Centre, Publicis.
